Experience the magical Christmas feeling at Mount Fløyen in December!
See our opening hours during Christmas here
Every Sunday in Advent there will be Christmas carols and lighting of Advent candles at 13:00. This is a great countdown to Christmas with fun activities for all our visitors at Mount Fløyen! In 2025 it is 26 years since this tradition started. The big Advent candles will stay throughout December, and they look really nice on your Instagram photos.
Visit our Advent forest decorated by children from all over Bergen!
We invite all kindergartens for Christmas tree decorations with their own created decorations. At Fløyen we care about the nature, so the kids have to make ornaments that can withstand the outdoor climate in December. Furthermore, it can not be made of anything that can harm the animals living in the forest. The children are very creative and make ornaments of ice sticks, cones, moss, wool and branches.
Every Sunday in December a new tree will be decorated by kindergarten, to the delight of all visitors to Fløyen. You will find the Advent forest behind the restaurant and you can visit until the end of December. Take a walk and see the beautiful forest! You will definitely be inspired how to decorate your own Christmas tree.
As you probably know, the view from Mount Fløyen is beautiful by day, but you should take the funicular up in the evening – as Fløyen is a great spot to see the sunsets. And not to mention the view by night! All the lights from the city makes it look like a big treasure chest of sparkling gold.
PS. The last funicular returns to the city by midnight.
